The Focus on Calling to Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism)

“…The greatest and most important issue is the topic of Islamic creed, the topic of Tawheed and that which opposes it (ash-Shirk).

Tawheed is the reason that Allah sent all of the Messengers, revealed the Books, and created both Jinn and mankind. The rest of the rulings then followed it (Tawheed). The Glorified says: {And I did not create Jinn and men except to worship me.} (adh-Dhaariyaat:56)…”

“…This is the original foundation, the greatest understanding that is most befitting to be written about by the people of knowledge. It is the most befitting to be focused upon by the callers of guidance and those who assist in spreading the truth. It is the science that deserves most to be held onto, and spread amongst all the various types of people within society until they firmly understand it and stay away from what opposes it.

I advise my brothers from the people of knowledge who call to Allah, the Glorified, to focus on this great foundation and to write about what they are able to in the form of articles and pamphlets until it is spread throughout mankind. Until the rulers and laypeople know the greatness of this issue and the seriousness of its importance…”

“…The first thing that the Messenger acted upon and established was calling the people to Tawheed and guiding them in detail on how to worship.

The statement that founded his call was ((none has the right to be worshipped other than Allah)). This was the beginning of the strong foundation along with the declaration that Muhammad was the Messenger of Allah…”

“…He, peace be upon him, stayed in Makkah for ten years supporting this statement and calling the people to Tawheed of Allah and to the abandonment of Shirk as well as calling to the removal of all idols (that were being worshipped). He explained the obligation set upon Jinn and men to worship Allah alone and to repel the idolatry that their fathers and ancestors had fallen into.

Most of the Muslim countries fell into idolatry because of the ignorance concerning their extremism in worshipping graves, especially the graves of those whom they called the Awliyaa (those who carry out the commands of Allah). They took the mosques as graves and directed most of their worship to the dead, acts such as supplication, seeking assistance, slaughtering, vowing, etc. And this was also due to their ignorance of this original foundation (concerning the divine legislation) as the majority of the Muslim countries have legislated man made ideas and laws (that oppose the divine legislation) in addition to their opposition of ruling by what Allah and His Messenger legislated which is the fairest and best of what has been legislated.”
